Ofaa Dawa ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Ofaa Dawa mobile application (the "App"), a service marketplace platform based in Tanzania. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and profile details (such as account type and business information).
- Profile Photos: If you upload a profile picture or business logo, we store these images securely.
- KYC Documents: Vendors may submit identity documents for verification purposes. These are stored securely and used solely for account verification.
- Request and Order Data: Information you provide when creating requests, submitting bids, or managing orders, including descriptions, images, and delivery preferences.
- Messages: Communications exchanged between users through the in-app messaging system.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and push notification tokens to deliver notifications.
- City and Address: City and street address information you provide for service matching purposes.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To match service requests with relevant vendors based on category and location
- To facilitate communication between users
- To send push notifications about new requests, bids, orders, and other relevant updates
- To verify vendor accounts through KYC documentation
- To improve and maintain the App
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud-based platform with enterprise-grade security. We implement row-level security policies to ensure users can only access data they are authorized to view. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share limited information in the following cases:
- Between Users: Your public profile information (name, profile picture, ratings) is visible to other users when you interact through requests, bids, and orders.
- Service Providers: We use third-party services (Supabase for data storage, Expo for push notifications) that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
Push Notifications
We send push notifications to inform you about new requests in your subscribed categories, bids on your requests, order updates, and messages. You can manage your notification preferences within the App or disable them through your device settings.
Camera and Photo Access
The App may request access to your device's camera and photo library to allow you to upload profile pictures, KYC documents, and request attachments. We only access these features when you explicitly choose to upload content.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and update your personal information through your profile settings
- Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
- Opt out of push notifications through the App or device settings
- Request a copy of your personal data
Data Protection (Tanzania)
We comply with the Tanzania Personal Data Protection Act and other applicable data protection regulations. Your data is primarily processed and stored on secure cloud servers. By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.
Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
